Halden SchuelerAugust 21, 1928 ~ July 27, 2017 (age 88)
Halden F. Schueler, 88, of Convoy, OH, formerly of Decatur, IN, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2017 in the Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert, OH. Halden was born on August 21, 1928 in Adams County, IN to the late Gustav and Matilda (Fackler) Schueler. On November 21, 1991 he married Carol A. McBride; she preceded him in death on October 2, 2005.
Halden was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Decatur. He was a 1947 graduate of Monmouth H.S. and worked as a lifelong farmer. He served his country in United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the American Legion Post 43.
He is survived by a brother, Kenneth L. (Marlene) Schueler of Decatur and numerous nieces nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Schueler and 3 sisters, Mardella Reinhart, Ruth Schamerloh, and Lorien Cress.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 31, 2017 in the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 8538 N. 500 E., Decatur, with calling 2 hours prior from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Pastor David Koeneman will be officiating. Burial will be in the Evangelical Protestant Cemetery, rural Ohio City, OH. Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 43 Color Guard.
